As a proud member of the Merton community for over 20 years, I can’t say enough how excited I am to serve as our Superintendent. I have had the pleasure of watching all three of my children flourish while attending Merton Primary and Merton Intermediate. Thanks to a great parent community and strong partnership with our PTO, our district continues to flourish by creating great learning opportunities for our students to learn and grow.
Over the past 13 years, we have created a high level of student engagement with a focus on academic excellence, personal growth, curiosity, and the development of the whole child. With additions of personalized learning curriculums/programs in the area of mathematics, reading, and writing; our district has been able to meet kids where they are at academically and move them forward. Our district just updated all of our curriculums and continue to add elective and extra opportunities so our students can continue to pursue their passions and curiosities. With a focus on the core subject areas, our student achievement indicators continue to show students are growing and achieving at high levels through a variety of assessment measures.
I am so proud and blessed to lead one of the very best schools in the state of Wisconsin! Being a former parent, community member, and educator in the Merton Community School District has meant so much to myself and my family. If there is any aspect of our district or community you would like to know more about, feel free to reach out to me at russr@merton.k12.wi.us or (262) 538-2828.
