Open Enrollment for 2010-2011 ~ Application period: February 1-19

Wisconsin’s inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents/guardians to apply for their children to attend school districts other than the one in which they live. State residents in 4-year old kindergarten to grade 12 may apply to participate in open enrollment. New this year: online applications. Visit the DPI’s website at http://dpi.wi.gov/sms/psctoc.html for more information and specific application instructions. Application forms must be received by the nonresident school district no later than 4:00 pm on Fri., February 19th

H1N1/"Swine" Flu

Attendance at Merton Schools is typical. On 10/20/09, the Primary School had about 2% absent and the Intermediate School about 4% absent. These are normal numbers. We are receiving isolated reports of some swine flu from parents of absent kids, but we are obviously not experiencing near the rates of some in the Milwaukee metro area. We will keep you informed.

Update on the current H1N1 influenza

Please see the attached letter from State Superintendent Tony Evers and the Department of Health Services Secretary Karen Timberlake. This letter provides an update on the current H1N1 influenza pandemic, possible impacts this fall, clarification on waivers, and links to additional information.

H1N1 Flu Update

As we enter the new school year and the influenza (flu) season, we expect Wisconsin to continue seeing cases of the H1N1 flu. Merton Schools and public health officials are working to keep children safe and healthy.  We need your help!  Please click here for more information.
