The snow is here and we want to make sure that every child has fun and stays safe at recess by following the recess rules! We ask that all children come to school equipped for the snowy months ahead. With your support of these cold weather guidelines, all students will have an enjoyable time on our playground.
Please Remember Our School Rules:
Be Safe:
- Snow is not thrown for any reason.
- Stay off any ice-avoid walking/playing on ice patches
- Snow may be used to build snowmen, snow forts and other sculptures. Playing King of the Hill (pushing kids down off of the hill) is not allowed.
Be Respectful
- Respect other people’s space. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
- Play fighting, throwing snow in hoods or down others’ back isn’t respectful.
- Help others keep snow creations (#3 above) standing during our recesses.
Do Your Job
- Dress for the weather, every day. In order to play in/with the snow you have to be ready-caps/hats, mitts, gloves, boots, jacket, snowpants. You can do this.
- Listen to the adults who are in charge of you-the first time.
- Share the snow. It is there for everyone’s fun.
- Moving snow from one area to another is not our job and will have consequences (you will be told to stand at the fence (near the ball bin) until the end of recess.
