Top Reasons to Work at the Merton Community School District
- Our Children! Look at these faces on this website ...how can you not say yes? Wait until you meet them in person.
- We are a K-8 District. K-8 Districts have a wonderful advantage from larger K-12 Districts! Wisconsin has only 43 K-8 school districts and 10 union high school districts, which are among the highest performing districts in the state. Many K-12 districts claim that they are "destination districts." What makes them a "destination district," because they say so? K-8 districts offer many advantages from K-12 districts. We could dedicate a whole website to share them all. Most importantly, we have a family-like feeling that isn't replicated in larger school systems. Every administrator and employee knows you name, your passions and interests, and cares about you as a person. Keep reading!
- Your voice matters. We want our employees to be informed and to influence our work. Through our new teacher induction program, district curriculum committees, and building leadership teams, we encourage you to become engaged in our improvement and innovation efforts.
- Learning is our work! From the Boardroom to the classroom, we establish professional learning opportunities as individuals, teams and throughout our district. You will have access to classroom technology, modern classroom designs, instructional specialist, and resources dedicated to ensuring you have everything you need to succeed.
- We are excellent in education. While much has changed since the days of the one-room schoolhouse, excellence in education remains the same. We set high expectations for students and staff, actively partner with families, and work to attract and retain professional and experienced teachers and staff. Merton is rapidly growing, attracting families from around the world.
- We have a high level of community and family engagement. Our Merton Parent Teacher Organization cannot be described, you need to experience it! They generously support our district by providing funds and grants for classroom and district projects, innovation and educational programming. They also spoil staff members through amazing meals, thoughtful gifts, and classroom teacher support, just to name a few. In the broader community we have great organizations that support the development and curiosity of the whole child.
- We are focused on our moral mission. Our Merton Strategic plan is our greater mission to foster academic excellence while inspiring curiosity and personal growth. We remain committed to our work. This is demonstrated by our budget priorities that places the highest priority on classroom needs.
